nabim is the representative organisation for the UK flour milling industry. The industry uses around 5.5 million tonnes of wheat a year to produce 4.5 million tonnes of flour. nabim has three principal functions:- to promote the flour milling industry’s views to government, parliament, regulators, the media and other interested bodies.
- to work to improve understanding of its operational requirements, especially in responding to Parliamentary, Government, EU and international consultations and through liaison with other parties (in particular with partners in the food supply chain).
- to provide information and advice to its members on a wide range of subjects.
UK flour millers are proud of the role they play in society, delivering efficiently produced, high quality safe food for the consumer > Corporate and Social Responsibility.
Flour millers form a vital link in the food chain, producing a versatile and valuable food source that is packed with nutrients including vitamins and minerals. Flour is used as the main ingredient in bread as well as in biscuits, cakes, pies, soups and much more.
